#Flipkart,#Myntra,#Amazon could outsource delivery and distribution to Connect India

e-commerce logistics firm Connect India is in talks with e-tailers like Flipkart,Myntra and others to enhance its delivery and distribution network."We have done a pilot project with e-commerce giant Amazon in Punjab, but most of the top line and small e-commerce companies are interested to work with us. We are talking to all big players including Flipkart, Myntra" company Founder L R Sridhar told reporters at the nation-wide launch of Connect India's services from Bangalore today.
 

"We are very excited to see the impressive results of the pilot. As part of the pilot we fulfilled 65 % of the orders the very first day in remote rural areas of Punjab and received cash on delivery within 24 hours. The volume of shipments is significantly increasing in these untapped pin codes across the country. Hence we aim to leverage the network of Connect India to serve our customers better in such areas going forward” said Samuel Thomas, Director Transportation, Amazon India.
Vineet Rai, CEO and Managing Director of Aavishkaar, which recently invested Rs. 32 cr in Connect India to enhance e-commerce in rural sector said, "Connect India has a robust model of developing village level entrepreneurs to bring efficient logistics and reverse logistics to taluk and sub-taluk-level communities.
“We target to appoint over 50,000 last mile delivery entrepreneurs as Connect India Centers (CICs), who in turn will provide employment to more than 200,000 delivery associates or ‘Customer Connect Associates’ from their local communities in the next 3 years. The Company will act as a platform to drive Make in India initiative and make significant difference to the livelihoods," added Mr.Sridhar.
